June 26 - 28, Time: See website for complete schedule
Location: Lubec, Maine USA & Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada
Two Countries...One: Marathon...Half-Marathon...10K...Fun Run...52K Ultramarathon
A unique race for the discerning runner. Run across the Canada-USA border without stopping. No crowds or traffic lights. Beautiful scenery & the world's largest tides. Bald eagles, seals, and sometimes whales are seen from the course. Medals and awards are handcrafted by local Lubec artist Shanna Wheelock.
Shanna Wheelock of Cobscook Pottery has created hand crafted ceramic awards for the Bay of Fundy International Marathon for seven years running! Past award themes include the Starfish, Harbor Seal, Herring, North Atlantic Right Whale, and the Sea Scallop. Her creations are presented to the top ultramarathon male and female runners, and the top three overall males and females in each of the other races.
Each year our local sculptor Richard Klyver of Eastport designs a unique new finishers medal based on a local marine species. Each medal is hand cast in lead-free pewter, individually tooled, and hand strung on fishermen’s twine.
A challenging, fully certified, chip timed, Boston Marathon qualifying, not-for-profit event organized jointly by the friendly & welcoming communities of Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada and Lubec, Maine, USA.
Join us on the shores of the magnificent Bay of Fundy.
