The annual Down East Spring Birding Festival provides a unique birding experience during spring migration and the breeding season with four days of self-guided explorations, guided hikes, boat tours and presentations led by area experts.

Maine Birding Trail's Bob Duchesne takes us on a slow walking, 14 hour birding blitz along the northern coast of Maine, including the Lubec mudflats. The Downeast Salmon Federation and the Cobscook Community Learning Center are working together to put on a two week experience for teens interested in outdoor careers. This co-ed youth crew will live at the Wigwams Rapid on the Machias River and work together with professionals doing trail work, salmon habitat restoration and participating in an archaeological dig.

The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife's Hunter Education Course is more than a "gun safety" class. The basic mandatory course consists of classroom instruction. Each course is taught by a trained, certified volunteer instructor according to statewide standards.

Kids Have FUN learning and practicing wilderness skills at Cobscook Community Learning Center's Outdoor Adventure Club!
A High School Program where the student would attend school at the CCLC, work in small groups on academic and community-based projects, participate in 4 learning expeditions per year (ranging from wilderness trips to a 10-day Washington, DC trip in April), and join a learning community focused building leadership skills and pathways to success.
