Public Restrooms

Public restrooms can be found at Stockford Park on Lower Water Street (meaning south or to the right of the bridge) and at the Lubec Marina on Commercial Street. The library's (55 Water Street) restrooms are also open to the public during open hours for the library.

The library has:

  • a wide selection of books to suit a variety of interests, a children’s reading area and periodic story-telling hours
  • computer terminals available for checking email or researching the World Wide Web
  • a copy machine and printer for public use (nominal fee)
  • monthly exhibits by local artists
  • occasional activities for children and adults
  • public restrooms

Hours: Monday, Tuesday and Friday 10-4, Wednesday 10-8,

Saturday 10-2, Closed Sunday and Thursday

 

Mooring Permits

The Town of Lubec owns no public moorings. Individuals may apply for a mooring permit and once approved, the individual is responsible for putting in and maintaining the mooring.  There are no temporary moorings.

 

Boat Ramp

There is a state-owned public boat ramp on the north east edge of town, by the breakwater at the mouth of the Lubec Narrows. The ramp is used year round to launch commercial and recreational boats into Johnson’s Bay. From about the end of May, until approximately the last weekend in October, floats line the boat ramp for docking convenience.

 

Fishing and Hunting Licenses

Town clam license may be purchased at Lubec Town Office -commercial and recreational (weekly, monthly, annual)

State clam license from Department of Marine Resources

Fishing and Hunting licenses may be purchased at Lubec Town Office or online from Inland Fisheries and Wildlife

 

Eastport Ferry

Passenger Ferry Service between Eastport & Lubec (with connections to Campobello Island). Tuesday through Sunday. Last trip from Lubec only if passengers were brought over earlier and have not yet returned.  www.eastportferry.com 4master@downeastwindjammer.com

SUNRIDES Community Transit

Eastern Area Agency on Aging and SUNRIDES Community Transit are teaming up to create once monthly trips from Lubec to Machias and Calais and Bangor.

2nd Tuesday of each month - Machias Bay Connection:  Leaves Lubec from 3 locations - 8:00 AM Lyons Grocery / 8:10 AM Sunset View Apartments / 8:20 AM Lyons Convenience Store West Lubec

3rd Tuesday of each month - Up River Connection to Calais:  Leaves Lubec from 3 locations - 8:00 AM Lyons Grocery / 8:10 AM Sunset View Apartments / 8:20 AM Lyons Convenience Store West Lubec

4th Tuesday of each month - Bangor Connection:  Leaves Lubec from 3 locations - 7:00 AM Lyons Grocery / 7:10 AM Sunset View Apartments / 7:20 AM Lyons Convenience Store West Lubec

SUNRIDES also has an every Tuesday Shopping Trip for in-town Lubec between 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM.

These trips are FREE and are on a first come first served basis.
