Enjoy collecting sea glass and watching for seals at this three-bedroom, two bath, 1800’s oceanfront cottage full of modern updates and historic Maine charm.
Nestled on over 2 acres on the shores of Johnson Bay, this weekly summer rental cottage provides the perfect seaside getaway. Enjoy morning coffee from the eat-in kitchen or from the sitting area of your bedroom overlooking the ocean. Follow up breakfast with a stroll down to 100’ feet of private beach on the bay. Take a 20-minute walk from the cottage to historic Lubec Village or hop in the car for a short drive to Quoddy Head State Park, Hamilton Beach, the Cutler Coast, or Campobello Island (passport required). Come home from the day’s adventures to relax and enjoy the sounds of birds in the tamarack trees that bracket your view of Diamond Point and lobster boats moored at Rodgers Island. Go to sleep next to a fire downstairs or sleep under the stars upstairs under the skylights.
The house has been lovingly restored over the last three years and features a stacked washer and dryer, stainless steel kitchen appliances, two gas fireplaces, a gas grill, keyless entry, air-conditioning, a bidet, Level II EV charger for guest use and free internet. Check out the original wood beams in the downstairs bedroom and parlor, soak the day’s hike away in the original restored clawfoot tub and explore a secret staircase original to the house.
The cottage sleeps six comfortably, with a futon sofa available for an extra adult or small children as needed. Beach towels, shampoo, conditioner, soap, laundry and dish detergent are provided at no extra charge. No smoking or pets are permitted in the cottage. The cottage can be booked directly via email or through VRBO or Airbnb. A private Chargepoint Charger is available at the cottage for free electric charging of guests' EVs.
$1,500 plus 9% Maine Lodging Tax. A $100 fee is charged for cleaning, and a $500 refundable deposit is required in case of damages. $750 is charged at the time of booking and the remainder of the bill must be paid 15 days prior to arrival.
Check-in is usually Sunday at 4PM and check-out is Saturday at 11 AM, but early check-in or late check-out may be available for an extra charge. Additional days may also be available on either end of your stay depending on the season. Stays of 3 days minimum may be available in the shoulder and off seasons.
