Seal House
Seal House is an amenity-packed historic seaside cottage in the heart of Lubec, Maine. Built in 1920 by the same builder (John Trecartin) who designed the famous Roosevelt Cottage on nearby Campobello Island, Seal House is truly a Maine classic with its white picket fence, majestic Johnson Bay views, and cozy shared bouldered fire pit.
Our music room features a collection of 600 classic records passed down to us through generations, to the living room, centered around a fireplace flanked with local and family artwork, you’ll find plenty of charm and character in Seal House. Along with modern luxuries, such as brand new appliances and Ralph Lauren sheets, you’ll also find the history of Lubec woven throughout the home, present in maps, photos, books and artifacts that line the walls and bookshelves.
Thoughtfully-designed featuring 3 bedrooms and 1 bath, this private home is perfect for a couples getaway, family vacation or solo-traveler trip. The house also features access to a shared outdoor bouldered fire pit, picnic table overlooking the sea, grill, and herb garden for your enjoyment. Rainy day? No problem. Relax indoors in the kitchen which features ample space for dining, or the music room which includes a piano, guitar, reading nook, and much more!
Seal House is steps away from downtown Lubec, and minutes away from world-class Bold Coast hiking. Nearby parks include Cobscook Shores, a series of 15 newly created waterfront parks, and Quoddy State Park, which features the famous West Quoddy Lighthouse. We are also just across the border from Canada’s Campobello island - so be sure to bring your passport! This beautiful island features stunning views and abundant wildlife, including whales, eagles, and seals.

Additional rules
Seal House is under one half acre and there are two other tiny houses on the property: a luxury rental for max 2 people as well as an owner's tiny house. We strive to make our guests feel relaxed, comfortable and at peace. Please be considerate of neighbors and other guests late at night. ***Seal House is not suitable for children under 11 years old and is not child-proof. ***No outside guests permitted on the property without owner's permission. ***No pets allowed during guest's stay. ***No smoking indoors. ***If you would like all of the alcohol and wine removed before your stay, please let us know and we will do so in advance. ***Only one vehicle can park at Seal House and one for our Tiny House. If you are staying at Seal House and have more than one vehicle, we have additional free parking five doors down at our other property called Eagles Landing.
