Location: Lubec Memorial Library, 55 Water St, Lubec

Please join us for a special screening of documentary film, "The Right Whale", followed by a panel discussion including film-makers Cheryl and Nick Dean, and local experts Tora Johnson, Mo Brown, and Mackie Greene.

"The Right Whale: Tales of Resilience and Hope celebrates the enigmatic lives of right whales as they navigate the world's oceans. Southern right whales are one of the greatest conservation success stories of our time and remains largely unknown.  In contrast, Northern right whales are facing extinction.    We follow scientists using cutting edge technologies as they strive to solve the puzzle of why some whales are thriving and others struggling, posing solutions to help ensure the whales can coexist with us. With intimate glimpses into their social lives and a heart-stopping rescue, The Right Whale captures the beauty, intelligence, and fragility of these magnificent creatures, and the race to save them."
