Art Show at the Library
Sep, Time: Library Hours
Location: Lubec Memorial Library, 55 Water St., Lubec
Rox Corbett is an award-winning charcoal artist who makes representational drawings, mostly of animals. Her pictures are detailed and textural, somewhat abstract in composition, and full of shadows and light. An important aspect to her work is conveying the behavior or spirit of the animals she depicts, sometimes in humorous ways.
She first came to Lubec in the fall of 1983 as one of the "whale people", and worked field seasons for the New England Aquarium throughout the '80's and '90's.
Rox received a BFA degree from Concordia University, Montreal. She splits her time between Lubec and a ranch on the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone River in Wyoming with her Dutch shepherd, Echo, and a lot of grizzlies.
She is exhibiting framed prints of her work thru September 23rd and is offering prints, of the same quality as being shown, that will be sent directly to buyers. Half of the proceeds, over the cost of printing and shipping will be donated to the Lubec Memorial Library.
