"Let the Music Speak" Benefit Concert by Chris Farr and Jane Lanctot

During a slide show of 19th century Norwegian Naturalist oil paintings, Jane Lanctot will play selections from "I Blåfjellet" (In the Blue Mountain), by the famous 19th century Norwegian pianist and composer Agathe Backer-Grøndahl, which was dedicated to the composer's sister, the painter Harriet Backer.
The program continues with a selection of modern songs inspired by Northern Landscapes accompanied by original photography of our area performed by Christopher Farr. The set includes piano masterpieces by Pamart, Blomqvist, Poulenc and others inspired by the beauty of the north and the natural world.
Free admission - Donations welcome. This concert is in support of the works of the Machias Bay Chamber Concerts.
