Memories of Future Past by John D Rule

Location: Lubec Memorial Library, 55 Water St., Lubec
The images in this collection were taken in and around Lubec with a large-format camera and were developed and printed in John's darkroom in Lubec. The intent was to capture a bit of life, history, culture, and the beauty of Lubec's environment; to capture scenes that may not be available to future generations.If you look closely or use a magnifying glass, you will see amazing details in the subject matter. Notice how the angle of the sun enhances the subject or captures the essence of the time of day or season.
John's lifelong interest in photography took him to many beautiful places across the country, but he held Lubec, his adopted home, in a special place in his heart. He considered this collection a legacy to Lubec.
In honor of John's memory and his admiration for Lubec Memorial Library, the images are offered for sale at $100.00 each, with all proceeds benefiting the library.
A reception will be held at the library Saturday March 14, 1-2pm with heartfelt thanks to Denise Rule.
