Our Library Story

Location: Lubec Memorial Library, 55 Water St, Lubec

Suzanne Plaut has been a part of our library for nearly fifty years. She began as a volunteer, later served as treasurer and in 1987 became the director, a post she held until recently.

Join us as Suzanne shares her memories of the library and the people who have made it the community mainstay it is today. Not a dry recounting of dates and statistics, this informal event will be an opportunity to learn how neighbors came together some 70 years ago to fulfill a dream of making books and the power of reading accessible to all, an effort that has continued. Moreover, it will be a story sharing time, a chance for us to share our own memories of this special place.
