Sea Glass Ornaments & Felted Wool Ornaments

Dec 7 & 14, Time: 10 - 11:30 AM

Location: Common Threads Studio, LCOC, Lubec

The Lubec Community Outreach Center is pleased to offer two holiday ornament workshops at their Common Threads Studio.  Both workshops will feature local arts educator and workshop facilitator Sara Myrick, Eastport artist, who will lead participants through the fun and creative process.

On Saturday, December 7th a Sea Glass Ornaments workshop will be a class learning how to create unique handmade seasonal ornaments using genuine sea glass personally picked from local beaches. A variety of additional craft materials will be provided, and multiple project ideas will be available to inspire participants in creating their very own holiday ornaments.

On Saturday December 14th, the Upcycled Wool & Craft Felt Ornaments workshop will show participants how to create unique handmade seasonal ornaments using craft felt and upcycled wool pieces. A variety of craft materials will be provided and multiple project ideas will be available to inspire participants in creating their very own holiday ornaments.

“The holidays are a time for the artist in all of us to try something new,” commented Jennifer Bristol, LCOC Executive Director. “But it is also a time when we all benefit from spending time with others- our workshops offer an equal dose of learning and community!”

Sara Myrick is the art teacher for Eastport Elementary School, Shead High School, and an adjunct art professor at Washington County Community College. She provides art and craft-based workshops for all ages at a variety of locations around Washington County. She lives in Eastport with her two teenage kids and furbabies!

Both workshops will run from 10 am to 11:30 am for a suggested donation of $15 per workshop. Teens ages 12 and up are welcome. Space is limited and registration is required.
