Silkscreen Workshop with Hope Rovelto
Jun 26 & 27, Time: 5 - 8 PM
Location: Cobscook Institute, 10 Commissary Point Rd, Trescott
Fee: $0 - $240.00 Our Access Fund provides Sliding Scale Pricing to residents of Passamaquoddy Territory, Charlotte & Washington Counties.
The class is a hands-on introduction to screen printing using a photo emulsion process with founder of Little Chair Printing.
This workshop will examine the relationship between words and images. Working from the prompt, “What positive message do you want to send to your community?” Starting from drawings or digital files, students will use direct methods to expose images on our screens, and will learn how to screen print with dedicated equipment.
Over the course of two evenings, you will learn how to burn a screen, print a single-color design on a manual press, and clean a screen. You will also have the opportunity to print single- or multiple-color posters and T-shirts. The class is open to all experience levels, from beginner to advanced, and will provide you with the skills and knowledge necessary to design and print your own apparel items using the screen printing process.
Price includes $50 materials fee. Students are encouraged to bring their own garments to print on.
